SCHOOL OFFICE SUMMER HOURS:

Mon. thru Fri. from 8:30 a.m. til 3:00 p.m.

All report cards that were not picked up at the school office have been mailed, with the exception of those students who still owe monies for lunch, tuition, after care, damaged books, etc.

Also, summer reading lists and other important information were included with the report cards, or were mailed without the report card(s) if you still owe the school for one of the items above.  If you do not receive your child(ren)’s report card(s), please call the school office at 885-4700.

Enroll or re-enroll now for the '09-'10 school year for Pre-K 3 through 12th grades.   School tours are available on Tuesdays and Fridays beginnning at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.   Reservations are not required and tours are not mandatory for enrollment.  For more information, call or visit the school office weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Thank you to all who attended this event.  It was a great success with over 1300 people in attendance.  It was an enjoyable evening of great weather, fun, and fellowship.  A special "thank you" to the Celebration Church staff, school staff, and volunteers who helped pull this event together and to those of you who prayed that God would bless this time of ministry.  He did and we thank Him for his blessing and look forward to next year!

Parent/Teacher Conferences and VIP Meeting

At our final VIP Group for this school year, senior parent, Janice Tyson, won the $25.00 AMC Theater Gift Card, 8th grade homeroom teacher, Mrs. Plaisance, received the highest attendance award and Mrs. Olanike Orie won the $500.00 school expense voucher drawing.

Our Executive Officers for the '09-'10 school year are: President, Glenn Leingang; 1st V.P., Missy Powenski; 2nd V.P., Kim Chabert; Treasurer, Leon Goodwin; Historian, Star Goodwin.

Congratulations to our winners, new officers, and thanks to all who attended.

 

Key Club District Convention           April 17th - 19th        Baton Rouge, LA

CCCS Key Club received two major trophies at this year's district convention covering the tri-state area of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee -- 1st place Governor's Service Project trophy and 1st place in their division for the district's Single Service Project. They also won the overall Single Service Project of all the divisions in the district and will represent the district at the International Convention in July in Dallas, Texas.  Congratulations to our Key Club members and advisor, Mrs. Cindy Johnson, for a job well done!

Secondary students served the elderly, homeless, orphans, widows, and children's hospitals during this two-day service project.

This event was a hit with everyone who attended.  The Jr. High gym was transformed into a starlit wonderland with stunning decorations, a delicious and elegant dinner buffet, well appointed tablescapes, jazzy dinner music, and beautifully packaged auction items galore.  More than 130 people were there to enjoy the festivities.

Thank you to all those who donated their time, money, and valuables to make our first annual Gala & Auction a big success.

We are already looking forward to next year, please come and join us then for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship.

Cubscout Pack 740 Pinewood Derby 3/7/09

 

Nine Cub Scouts participated in Pack 740's first annual Pinewood Derby held at the beautiful CCCS Speedway inside the Pioneer Café.

 

Gentlemen, start your engines bellowed the announcer.  Vrooom!  It was a fast-paced morning as the entries zoomed past the finish line, race after race, until the winners emerged victorious.

February Box Tops Collection Contest

Our Pre-K3 classes were the winners, including Ms. Debbie's, Ms. Heidi's and Ms. Lisa's classrooms. They collected over 500 boxtops!! For their treat, they will have a McDonald's lunch. Thanks to all the students in the school for turning in your Box Tops.  Keep collecting!

KEY CLUB BOOK DRIVE  

CCCSs Key Club collected 451 books at their recent book drive.  Thanks to everyone who donated.

Maryfrances J. (Lt. Gov. for Key Clubs Division 4-C), Loren P. (CCCS Project Chairperson) and Cierra V. box donated books in the school office.

Proceeds from a city-wide Key Club book sale held the weekend of February 14th-15th are being used for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for schools in the New Orleans area.

 

Jump Rope and Hoops for Hearts

Seventy-six CCCS students raised $1,873.00 for the American Heart Asssociation and had tons of fun at this event.  Thanks to Coach Susan Marchiafava and Ray Cherry for hosting this commnity service project for our students and the AHA.

Louisiana History Class French Quarter Field Trip

December 18, 2008

 

Mrs. Plaisance's Louisiana History students met some colorful characters while on a recent field trip to the French Quarter. They met such historical figures as John James Audubon, Jean Lafitte, Marie Laveau and Papa Noel.  The students also enjoyed guided tours of both the Hermann-Grima and Gallier houses.

Tree Decorating

Celebration in the Oaks

Student Council students and Sponsor, Marisa Guillie, decorate a Christmas Tree for our school in City Park's Celebration in the Oaks.  The theme is "and His name shall be called....".  The tree is covered in Fleur de Lis garland, crawfish holding printed names of Jesus, and red ribbon decorated with gold snowflakes.

All guests must enter the school grounds through the Pedestrian Gate in front of the school office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.

You may park along the curb in front of school, but please do not park on the sidewalk or directly across from a residential driveway.  This is against the law and your vehicle will be subject to ticketing by the JPSO.  Parking is also available near the playground or in the Celebration Church parking lot.

Driveway gates will be open during car line in the mornings and afternoons only.

Top Selling Homeroom from Pre-K through K was Mrs. Putman's Kindergarten.  They received a lunch field trip to Chuck E. Cheese.

Top Selling Homeroom from 1st through 7th grade was Mr. Rodivch's 4th grade.  They received a lunch field trip to Adventure Quest Laser Tag.

School-wide Top Selling Individual was 9th Grader, Erron Goodwin.  He received a cash prize of $200.00.  Erron wanted to do something special for the school, so he donated his winnings to the CCCS Athletic Department.  He is pictured here presenting his check to Athletic Director, Coach Johnny Reynolds.

Weight Room Open

3:00 pm til 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday during the summer months for all students in 9th - 12th grades who are registered for the '09/'10 school year.  Supervised by coaches Fuad Abdo, Joshua Dirmann and new head football and basketball coach, Gavin Felix.
